It’s time to make your room reservations for the West Coast Boxsterfest!

1. Event Overview:
Friday, March 30th – Sunday, April 1st
Central Coast of California (Cambria, CA area)
Friday: caravans to the Central California Coast & group dinner/socializing
Saturday: group breakfast, Hearst Castle tours, an afternoon drive and big dinner/socializing
Sunday: group breakfast, group drive and/or local sight-seeing/shopping

2. About the area: The Central Coast of California is some of the most picturesque coastline anywhere in the world. If you haven’t been there this will be a great opportunity to see it. If you have been there I know you’ll want to see it again this time with the top down while driving with other Boxsters. Plus we’re going to visit and tour Hearst Castle - an incredible place to see!

"Where the pines meet the sea," a phrase often heard in reference to Cambria, but also very true - since this is the area where beautiful coastal pine forests begin to appear on the rolling hills of the central coast. The trees and the wonderful Mediterranean climate lend a quiet and serene ambiance to the area. Relaxed strolls through the village or on the beaches are a highlight for visitors to Cambria. People travel from all over the world to experience Hearst Castle State Historic Landmark, a phenomenal monument to excess built over a twenty year period by publishing magnate William Randolph Hearst.

3. Where we’re staying: Based on suggestions and information gathered, we’re going to stay in the Moonstone Beach area. It offers an oceanfront setting, prime location as well as good accommodations and the availability that we need. We’ve selected The FogCatcher Inn as our primary hotel and they’ve blocked off 32 rooms for us. We want to fill up all of these rooms and get as many people as possible in one facility – it will be more fun and it will make the group events easier to manage.

4. About the property: The FogCatcher Inn has fireplaces in every room, offers a deluxe continental breakfast and they’ll allow us to use their breakfast room in the afternoon/evening as a gathering place. The charm of of this quaint English village style inn is accented by lovely gardens and cozy benches. Listen to the surf just footsteps away. Basic amenities for each room include a refrigerator, microwave, coffeemaker and television.

You need to make your own reservations. Room choices will become limited so you’re your reservations EARLY. When making reservations YOU NEED TO MENTION THAT YOU’RE WITH THE BABBLERS! Your choice of rooms (some have King beds and some have one or two Queen beds)include:

Two-night stay is required

We have 32 rooms blocked off for our use. If we need additional rooms we have two other places to choose from (below). Here’s the FogCatcher Inn info:

My wife's practices only has two doctors working at one time, and only three doctors total, so it's oftentimes challenging for her to get days off.

We'll probably be making our reservations today.

if that's beyond your budget you certainly could room with another BABBLER or we could locate a less expensive motel (Ren knows of one). I hope you'll join us Jay!

Hi all from a terminal room at a geek conference in Amsterdam this week. BTW, I've seen nothing but hardtop Boxsters in Paris & Amsterdam this week... no rags.

Jay, http://www.cambriapalmsmotel.com/ - ~$75 per night. Or... if you are daring... you could crash with my buddy Alec & I. Threeway split on a room would reduce the cost and we could crash with the Boxster crew. I snore. Ask Joe

Cheers,
-Ren
